What should be paid attention to when installing and using the temperature sensor?

The proper installation and calibration of temperature measurement devices within industrial furnace systems represents a critical operational consideration that directly impacts the accuracy and reliability of thermal monitoring. When examining thermocouple deployment within furnace environments, several fundamental technical requirements must be carefully addressed to ensure precise temperature readings. The positioning and penetration depth of thermocouples constitute primary factors affecting measurement fidelity within furnace operations. Thermocouples deployed for furnace temperature monitoring must not be positioned in proximity to furnace access doors or direct heating elements, as such placement introduces significant measurement errors due to localized thermal anomalies. The insertion depth of the thermocouple into the furnace chamber should maintain a minimum ratio of 8 to 10 times the outer diameter of the protective tube, ensuring adequate immersion for representative sampling of the furnace internal temperature environment. This depth requirement prevents the temperature reading from being influenced by the cooler inlet region near the furnace opening and ensures the sensing junction reaches the stable temperature zone within the furnace interior. The insulation integrity around the thermocouple installation point demands equal attention in industrial furnace applications. When a thermocouple protective sleeve passes through the furnace wall, any gaps between the external surface of the protective sleeve and the edges of the penetration hole must be completely sealed using appropriate insulating materials. Common materials employed for this sealing function include refractory mud compounds and asbestos rope, which prevent the uncontrolled convection of heated air from escaping the furnace cavity or allow ambient temperature cold air from entering the measurement zone.
